Mordecai Farms, located in the Eastern Region of Ghana, is an agribusiness that specializes in aquaculture (catfish farming) and organic vegetable cultivation, with a focus on greenhouse farming. Since beginning operations in February 2023, we have grown our team to 10 dedicated employees. Our farm utilizes cutting-edge Recirculating Aquaculture System (RAS) technology and solar power, reinforcing our commitment to sustainable and eco-friendly practices.
At Mordecai Farms, we are driven by a simple yet powerful philosophy: to do the right thing and always seek better, more efficient ways to achieve our goals. Our belief in sustainability is what led us to adopt RAS as our core technology and solar as our primary energy source. We are confident that sustainable inland aquaculture is essential for the future of our industry and the preservation of the environment.
We offer a range of high-quality, sustainably produced products, including:
Premium quality fresh catfish from our sustainable RAS aquaculture system.
Curled and sliced oven-dried catfish, perfect for long-term storage and cooking.
Fresh organic tomatoes, yellow/green bell peppers, and cucumbers from our greenhouse.
Environmental stewardship is at the core of what we do. Our focus on water efficiency, water quality, and wastewater treatment allows us to minimize our ecological footprint. In fact, we utilize the nutrient-rich effluent from our aquaculture system to nourish our greenhouse vegetables, further enhancing our sustainability efforts.
To be a leading provider of sustainable, high-quality aquaculture and organic farming products, contributing to the global fight against food insecurity while safeguarding the environment for future generations.
To operate a sustainable and innovative agribusiness that delivers premium-quality products while adopting environmentally responsible practices. We aim to advance food security in Ghana and beyond by integrating technology, green energy, and responsible farming methods.
Mordecai Farms aligns its core business strategies with the following UN SDGs:
By providing sustainable food solutions through aquaculture and organic farming.
Through efficient water usage and treatment practices.
By leveraging solar energy as our primary power source.
Ensuring that our farming methods and business operations minimize waste and promote sustainability.
Reducing our carbon footprint through innovative energy solutions and sustainable farming techniques.
